Um Depoimento
de um norte-americano [disponível em http://www.captimes.com/opinion/interact/reaction.php]

"I can’t
sleep. I can’t think. This tragedy has consumed me. My whole world
has changed. We’ve changed.
Software.
Cell phones. Technology. What has it given us?
Machines
that make our lives easier. Than why am I having such a tough time coping
with this? Where are the devices that make our lives easier to cope with
life?
Efficiency.
Productivity. Capitalism. These were symbols of America. Now they are
all destroyed. And so are we.

The Pain.
The Horror. The Tragedy. Will this make us more United, more American?
I
need time to heal. We’ll all need time to heal.
Anger.
Revenge. Hatred. These are the feelings that we have now. These are the
immediate emotions that we are experiencing. Is this the healing time?
Or is this the beginning of the destruction?

Resolve.
Oh how I hate that word. Resolve. Who has any resolve left after what
we have been through? Layoffs. Downsizing. And now this. How do we build
up resolve when we’ve been shot down so many times? Where do we find
the strength to have more Resolve. The words are so easy. The task is
so hard.

People
go back to work and resume their life. They perform as if there has been
no change. What a mask we wear. What a display we put on. And yet we are
all hurting. Deeply hurting. And we teach our children that they do not
have anything to fear. What wrong are we doing to them? We taught them
about violence and sex. And yet we are going to shelter them from the
truth. That we are hurting and that there is evil in the world.

The Internet.
Is this going to make us more united? Will we find our common voice and
purpose through this medium? Or will we use it to exploit our children?
Content.
You want content. There’s lots of content now. But it’s all
for show. Or is any of it worth reading? Worth healing?

God teaches
us through these forces of nature. What strong lessons He is teaching
us now. Are we listening? Will we make this right again and better? Will
we evolve and not repeat our ways? Or will history repeat itself?

If we learn
how to die, we’ll know how to live. How many more examples of death
do we have to see before we learn how to live?

smoke pour from the World Trade Center buildings in New York Tuesday,

Center towers minutes apart Tuesday in a horrific scene of explosions
and fires that left gaping holes in the 110-story buildings. The Empire
